Cyclone Biparjoy to hit Sindh's Keti Bandar Pakistan and India

According to Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman, Cyclone Biparjoy, which had slightly veered away from Karachi, is expected to make landfall in Sindh's Keti Bandar on Thursday at 11am. Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, the minister stated that around 66,000 people have been evacuated from coastal areas in Sindh to safer locations. She urged the public to cooperate with authorities, assuring them that all rescue agencies are prepared for relief operations. The

minister mentioned that Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, and Tharparkar districts will be most affected by the cyclone, while noting that Biparjoy is moving away from Karachi.

According to the latest updates from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Cyclone Biparjoy has shifted away from Karachi and is currently positioned approximately 370 kilometers south of the city. The cyclone has moved in a north-northeastward direction over the past six hours and is now situated at latitude 21.7°N and longitude 66.4°E. It is about 370 kilometers south-southwest of Karachi, 355 kilometers south-southwest of Thatta, and 290 kilometers south-southwest of Keti Bandar, as stated by the weather forecast department. Previously, the cyclone was located 340 kilometers south of Karachi.
